So, mostly I kept this blog up for my out-of-state family. Now you are all on Facebook, so I don't see any reason to keep this website up. I didn't particularly enjoy it and I certainly didn't keep it up to date. So, that's the story...

Laine's School Show

We were rained in this weekend. Sunday afternoon I noticed it was unusually quiet....then I saw that my entire family had found ways to entertain themselves! I got to sit and read!!! :) I thought both of these scenarios were hilarious!

Finally!! We got a lovely snow day in December, too. The girls have been waiting and waiting!!! We thought Anslee might be nervous her first time playing in it, but she ran right outside behind her big sisters and didn't want to come back in!

Well, December was a whirlwind!! First, we had the pleasure once again of seeing Disney on Ice! We can't seem to get enough of it!!!
Anslee (and her PopPop) celebrated her birthday on the 13th. She is now a talkative, bright, outgoing 2 year old!
And then Christmas came and went in a blur! Aunt Jaime was here for two weeks and my mom and brother were here for a week, too. We had a great month!

We had the pleasure of having my grandfather come visit for a week. The girls loved having him around and spending time with him. He also helped around the house some, too, and got me motivated to get some projects done!

This year we had a good witch, Hannah Montana, and a pig. :) The pig did not like her costume. Hahaha! We had a short Trick-or-Treating excursion before the rain started. A short and sweet night!

Vermont!

We had the pleasure of spending a weekend away in Vermont with friends to enjoy some lovely New England foliage and relaxation without the kiddos. There's not a lot to do up there, but it sure was pretty!! We came home refreshed (and stuffed full of good food!)

First Day of School and Birthdays

Well, September (and the beginning of October) is a busy time for us. School started on Laine's 6th birthday and then it was time for Sadie to turn 8!! I have been enjoying my time alone with Anslee during the day while the big girls are in school. I thought my days would be leisurely without the big kids at home, but Anslee is keeping me busy without her playmates to entertain her. :)

Well, after a very long time of no home improvement projects, we have finally finished our main bath! :) Bye bye ugly turquoise bathtub and tile! Hello clean new white tub and non-grimy floor. The girls can now see themselves in the new mirror, which makes things even easier (having 5 people getting ready in the same bathroom is never going to be easy!

Speaking aside, she is getting better at listening and understanding. I feel like she understands a lot more of what we're saying these days and responding. For instance, "Anslee, want to go nigh-night?" and she will run to her bed. Or "Want to take a bath?" and she runs to the bath. Also, "No, Anslee, don't do that!" and she will put her head down and pout.
Her personality is really starting to shine and we are enjoying her very very much!!

Sadie pulled out her last front tooth this week. She is very proud of her big gap.

The next picture is the girls downstairs watching TV. Laine is pouting because Anslee is closer to Sadie than herself. It just shows that they have adjusted really well to their baby sister. If anything, Anslee gets jealous of them when I need to hold one of the big girls for one reason or another. We never thought about that angle...

A Taste of Spring

We had an unusually warm day here last week. It was in the 60's and with the sunshine, I actually got out my flipflops for a day. It was an awesome vacation from the winter. It was Anslee's first time walking and being outside. She was so intrigued by everything! The puddle of water. The grass. The landscaping stones. It was a lot of fun to see the world through her eyes (and enjoy some outside time with her while the big girls were in school). Now we'll just wait for the real thing...

Lucky us! Santa rode up to our house on a firetruck and hand delivered candy canes to the girls!! It was a nice treat!! Merry Christmas!!!

Our sweet baby turned ONE on the 13th of this month. We celebrated with a cinnamon roll for breakfast. Then we went to Build-a-Bear workshop to build her a teddy bear (just like we did with the other girls). The big girls named it Annie Bear. Then we had chicken nuggets and peas for dinner (Anslee's favorite!). :) It was a great day. Unfortunately, Mommy was recovering from a stomach virus, so the big party go put off for another week or so...so sad. At least Anslee didn't notice.
The next day at church, we had Anslee dedicated. Here we are with Pastor Tim...

Our first service project

Today we had the privilege of volunteering for Liquid Church's outreach in New Brunswick. It was our first time serving as a family and what a great time having just celebrated Thanksgiving. We have so much to be thankful for!! Thanks to Liquid (and God for making it happen) around a thousand coats were given to the people of New Brunswick!! Way to take church to the people!!

This year for Halloween we had Hannah Montana! A Halloween Princess (really a witch)! and a Bumble Bee (Daddy is really scared of bees so we thought this was funny!) The girls got to trick-or-treat in Aunt Shisha's neighborhood (Jon's sister, Melissa) with all of the cousins and then came to our neighborhood. Lots of candy!!!!!

The Circus Comes To Town!

We had the pleasure of being gifted front row seats to the Ringling Brothers Circus a couple of weekends ago. It was our first trip to the circus. The girls loved the acrobats and the elephants! We loved watching their faces...it was a great time!

Sadie is 7!!

Sadie turned 7 on October 10th. She learned how to ride a two-wheeler without training wheels just last week, so for her big day, she got a big girl bike! She was a little intimidated at first, but caught on quick. Then, she had a birthday party at our showroom with 9 of her closest friends and they watched "Hannah Montana in 3-D" It was big time fun!! Happy Birthday Sadie!!!

Laine Is 5!

It's hard for us to believe, but Laine turned 5 years old on the 8th. We took her to Playhouse Disney LIVE! in Newark. We kept it a surprise until we walked into the arena. She loved it! Then on her birthday, she got to have her cousins over for breakfast and again later for cake! It was a great day!

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!!!!!

So many firsts this week!!! First of all, it was Laine's first day of Kindergarten!!! I can't believe how fast it came. She was very excited most of all to ride the bus to school. And she got Sadie's old Kindergarten teacher, so she was already in love with her. It was also Sadie's first day of First Grade. She was most excited that it was all day (and not half day, like Kindergarten).

Family Vacation

We went to Ocean City, NJ for our summer vacation this year. It was a great week!! We took a few bike rides and Laine loved being in the trailer and not having to pedal. Sadie's favorite part of the vacation was the swing ride. Jon loves the boardwalk...it has a lot of memories for him. And my favorite part was hanging out with friends for a solid week.

Time is flying just a little too fast for me! It was just a few weeks ago that she could even sit up and now she's pulling herself up to standing. We're going to blink our eyes and all three of them will be married with children of their own...

Sadie finally lost her tooth this morning!! She is soooo excited. Our dentist told us a month ago that she'd be lucky to lose one by Christmas! I reminded her that the tooth fairy would be coming tonight and she asked how much money she would bring. I said "Probably a dollar, but I'm not sure." and she replied, outraged, "What can I get for a dollar!!!??" Ain't that the truth, sister!

Mommy pierced Laine's ears tonight. I could not believe it when she let me do the second one!!! She was really brave and only cried for a minute. We were proud and she's already asking when she can pick out new sparkly pink ones. :) Tomorrow we go get Anslee's done...I am not doing that one myself!!

With summer officially here, we are enjoying some free time. The girls #1 favorite thing to do is have our neighbor, Emily, over for some play time. Boston

Here's a few pics from our trip to Boston. We visited Aunt Linda, toured the Boston Harbor, and went to the Sam Adams Brewery. Sadie stayed home to go to school...we missed her a lot. I took the picture of Jon and Laine at the brewery and some woman stopped me to say that with Laine posing like that, she could see exactly what she was going to be like as a teenager. We had better start preparing now.....
Oh, and p.s. That is obviously a root beer in Laine's hands up there. Just wanted to clarify!

Ordinary Day

Just an ordinary day today. Laine was not happy to have three inches of her hair cut off...as you can see. Sadie, the ever-eager babysitter, came through just in the nick of time while I was making dinner and discovered that Bob the Builder will occupy Anslee for a whole 20 minutes!!! Yeah Sadie!!!

A few more pics from the past week. I am so grateful for spring!

Anslee's angel kisses were popping out in full force that day...they get darker when she's upset or excited. Also, we have officially entered the drooling phase. It looks like two teeth are going to make their entrance any day!

Yesterday was Anslee's 4 month check up. She is now 13 lb.s 11 oz. and 24 inches long. Quite a bit smaller than her sisters at that age, but still in the 50th percentile!

I'm not exactly sure how I ever had a baby without a 6-year-old helper in the house. It's really awesome. Sadie is a great big sister. We're counting down until she can babysit for real!

So here is my first video post...Every single time we put Anslee in this seat, she's hopping and jumping all over the place. Of course, when I pull myself together to get the camera out while she's in there, this is what she does...at least she likes me! :)
